Reminder - Property Taxes are paid at City Hall until January 31st. After January 31st, any payments and the second half payments, should be sent to the Juneau County Treasurer 220 E. State Street, Mauston, WI 53948.

The New Lisbon Memorial Library is having a fundraiser for their remodeling/expansion fund. The library is celebrating 75 years with the chance to purchase a brick for $75. For more information, please contact the Library at 562-3213.

New Lisbon Community Pool will open on Monday, June 4th. Pool passes are available now at City Hall. Buy passes before the pool opens and pay pre-season rates! For swimming lessons, please contact the pool on or after June 4th.

General Election will be Tuesday, June 5th. Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

New Lisbon City Wide Garage Sales will be held on June 8th and 9th. This event is sponsored by the New Lisbon Chamber. To have your sale listed, please contact Nancy at the Chamber Office 562-3555 by May 31st.

New Lisbon Memorial Library Golf Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 9 am. Proceeds will got towards the expansion and remodeling of the library. This will be held at the Holiday Lodge Golf Resort in Wyeville. It is an 18 hole - 4 person scramble competition. $65 per person or $260 per team. Lunch will be served after golf. 2012 BOARD OF REVIEW

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 2012 Assessment Roll will be open for public inspection on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the City Hall, 232 West Pleasant Street.

FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Board of Review for the City of New Lisbon will convene on Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the City of New Lisbon Council Chambers at 232 West Pleasant Street. Adjournment is scheduled for 8:00 PM the same day.

If you feel your assessment is unfair, contact the Assessor’s office and discuss it with the Assessor. He can explain the procedure used in arriving at the assessment. If you are still dissatisfied and wish to object to the assessment, immediately contact my office to file the formal “Form of Objection” and arrange a hearing before the Board of Review prior to adjournment of it public hearing.

Remember that a Board of Review operates similarly to a court. Their function is not one of deciding valuation, but of deciding the validity of the facts presented orally before them. You or your representatives may provide testimony to the Board for objection to your assessment. If you feel your assessment is not market value, bring evidence to support your claim.
